Ride or Die 2016

I thought I would start of my second blog post of 2017 with something different. The ride or die tag has been EVERYWHERE, and I thought it would be a good idea to do a yearly one, so basically just my essential products for everyday make-up use that I came to adore throughout 2016.
Primer
This one is a bit of an odd one because before November time I would not ever think to use a primer underneath all my make-up. So not exactly a 'throughout 2016' thing. But the one that caught my heart is the Nivea post-shave balm. This little beauty is £5.35, which is a bargain seeing as the 100ml will last you for absolute ages (seriously, I'm still on my first bottle!)! It contains glycerin, which makes your make-up literally 'stick' to your face, and is so far the only skin care product EVER that hasn't made me break out, but rather made my skin look healthy and flawless! And considering some other primers out there are often ranging from £20 to £45 I would say definitely try this out! Also really good for after you shave your legs (or wherever else), it makes your skin nice and smooth. AND it smells gorgeous - what more could you want?!

Foundation
Absolute no-brainer. A holy grail itself. Basically what Tom Hanks was looking for in the Da Vinci's code with that French gal. MAC Studio Fix Fluid. I cannot express enough love for this foundation, it is something I have always loved (well, since I was about 14). Beautiful coverage, flawless finish, blendable af. Smells nice, easy to remove and literally lasts ALL day long. Literally. Do not even argue with me, please. Just try it...you're welcome.

Concealer
Urban Decay Naked Skin. I ordered this randomly, thought I would try it out, I wasn't even sure what my shade was. Never going back. Gives plenty of coverage, smells nice, blends well, smooths your skin and for the price it's something I would consider a bargain. It lasts a long time too!

Powder
Going from someone who looked like their face was LITERALLY fluffy to someone who looked like they were a part of a cocaine deal gone wrong, I have tried it all. High end and drugstore. But the ultimate winner in this category and my ultimate ride or die would be the Rimmel Stay Matte powder.  Does what its meant to, and the price point it's at makes it a very affordable product - whether you're a beginner or a make-up guru. However, I must admit that I have stopped using powder long ago. This is especially because my skin is more on the dry side, and so I've found that using a powder all over my face makes it cling to my dry patches.

Blush and Bronzer
I am a massive believer in blending. Blend like your life depends on it. All day, everyday. And so I was never a fan of those extra dark bronzers girls in my school would always wear. Unblended af, three shades darker than need be and caught up in their hairlines. Personally, I have yet to find a bronzer that gives me that radiant, healthy Kim KW glow. And so I'm left to contour the shit out of my face - with the Hoola bronzer from Benefit. I also add the satin blush in Crispy Whites from MAC. I picked this up accidentally in the Guildford MAC concession. It was just in a pot by the till as one of those last minute temptations, and it's a part of the Wash and Dry limited edition *cries forever*. I also have another favourite, which is the Blushbaby blush from MAC.

Highlighter
So many amazing products to choose from! My biggest love affair continues to be with MAC's Soft and Gentle - my first ever highlighter and still one of my favourite products out there, oldie but a goodie! But my ride or die definitely has to be Mary Lou Manizer from theBalm. A poppin' highlight,  beautiful, long lasting formula. AND it's usually on 10% off on feel unique.com .

Mascara
Mascara wise my ride or die would have to be the Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara. I can honestly say that I have tried many (high end and drugstore) mascaras, but this one screams and shouts at me! No fall out and panda eyes throughout the day, gives both length and volume without clumping your lashes together - no spider leg looks allowed with this! I must admit whenever I tried any high-end mascaras I was highly impressed with the small sized samples but awfully disappointed with the real thing. But this is amazing, definitely an excellent mascara to own!

Lipstick
MAC's Cremesheen lipstick range gets nowhere near the buzz it should. This is such a mistake because their Creme in your Coffee is literally my dream lipstick! Especially paired with the Morning Coffee liner, ahhh what a dream *insert a billion heart-eyed emojis here*

Liquid lipstick
If you know me you'll know I'm a massive fan of a pink lip. And especially the most perfect, baby pink liquid lipstick ever. Kylie's Koko K liquid matte is the most perfect shade! Long lasting, the formula is amazingly creamy, doesn't feel drying at all! It genuinely lasts throughout the day with minimal re-application needed! It's eat-proof, as well as a kiss or two proof...what more could you want?!

Eyeshadow palette
My ultimate ride or die. My literal holy grail. I have been asking for this literally every single day since I can remember. And when I opened that beautiful Sephora box at Christmas from Matt I was literally the happiest girl ever. Tarte in Bloom palette is literally life. Such an astonishing selection of shades, the formula feels creamy and is extremely long-lasting and the amount of looks you can create with just 12 shades is incredible! Honestly, if you can get your hands on this please do so, you will not regret it!

Setting spray
Urban Decay's All Nighter - help? Boys and girls, if you haven't tried this then throw away the hipster handbook and jump on that bandwagon because you will never ever look back!

That's my Ride or Die of 2016. Knew it was going to be a long one. I linked all the products for you just in case you want to check them out, let me know if you do! Speak soon.
Love you x
